Danielle is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She Attended Florida State University (FSU) where her focus right away was on becoming a therapist.  She achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with honors. After graduating from FSU, she performed her postgraduate studies at Brooklyn College (CUNY), where she earned a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling with certification in grief counseling and child development. Danielle’s therapeutic experience started in the non-profit sector helping children and families of incarcerated parents in NYC. Next, she transitioned into working with underprivileged families and at-risk youth on the West Coast of Florida – in the home, school, and community environments. Danielle continued with this area of work focusing on parents who are at risk of losing their children and parents with foster care needs in South Florida. She noticed that a consistent affliction of these families was the disease of addiction and that became a focus of her interventions along with Family Focused Therapy. Danielle’s compassion and passion for therapy led her to continue her career in the field of addiction treatment. In addition to being certified in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Danielle simultaneously utilizes skills from Gestalt Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in performing a mindfulness technique to offer support for her clients. Danielle left the environment of substance abuse counseling and joined private practice to focus her expertise with individual, family, martial and child/adolescent counseling addressing a variety of issues and disorders. She approaches her practice from the standpoint and firm belief that, “change comes from within.”
